The legendary UltraPlus series of satellite receivers has just become even more legendary. Those that have seen the previous incarnations of the UltraPlus range will know that each new release is cutting edge for the time. Going all the way back to the UltraPlus 9000 series almost 10 years ago to this latest cutting edge unit.

The UltraPlusX1000HD+ is feature packed with the lowest price. Those that are familiar with the UltraPlus 990 MaGic, will be aware of the ability to load M3u filelists, allowing access to 100’s of TV channels via the internet.
It Supports both the old digital SD and any new HD channels.
UltraPlus X-1000HD+ uses Linux OS along with upgraded hardware and plug-ins to reach the highest picture and sound quality.
UltraPlus X-1000HD+ built on the new super-efficient processor with enhanced multimedia and super low heat. The receiver supports playback of most video formats including popular formats MKV.

What’s so good about it?

Well it’s feature rich functions are almost a mash up of previous released units.  With a menu similar to the of the X Cruiser 385:

The pièce de résistance…….?

Well that has to be the seamless way it handles the newer format of satellite encoding, being

DVB-S2 – 16apsk – format

Primarily of interest in New Zealand due to the channel Nine Australia mux on Intelsat19. This receiver handles these channels with ease.

Please note that not only will you need a receiver like this, capable of resolving these transmissions, but you will also require a Ku rated satellite dish of no less than 1 meter in diameter. You will note the FEC rate on this mux is 8/9 meaning a higher than average lock-up point to resolve these frequencies.
